The Make-A-Wish Foundation exists to fulfill the wishes of terminally ill children. In order to make a dream come true for one of these children, the team needed to raise a minimum of $10,000. We are so proud of our 2019 – 2020 Minor Bantam team who set an off-ice goal of fulfilling one of those wishes.
Under the leadership of head coach John Henriques and his coaching staff of Ray Heslop, George Carera, Carlos Carreira and Mark Goulart, the team launched 9 (yes 9) different and unique team based initiatives to raise money and surpass their goal.
They launched an Empty Bottle drive, a Christmas Poinsettia drive, a Food Drive with Global Meats, a Flip Give, a Halloween Toonie Toss, a Silent Auction, a Hockey Season Player points pool, a Garage sale and finally, if that wasn’t enough, they set up a Donations page on Make-a-Wish Website. This wasn’t a one-off task, this was a season-long commitment!

In total this incredible team raised $10,150 and were highlighted and interviewed live on the Stu Jeffries morning show on 97.3 FM Boom radio.
